Sushihatake's First Event at Manhattan Bakery & Wine Bar in Kanamecho | A Night of Sushi at a Stylish Bakery & Wine Bar

Last week, we held our very first sushi event as Sushihatake at the stylish Manhattan Bakery & Wine Bar in Kanamecho, Toshima, Tokyo. The warm aroma of freshly baked bread mingled with the rich fragrance of wine, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. A gentle ocean video projected onto the wall added a serene touch, blending perfectly with the soft sounds of conversation and clinking glasses—a quintessential “Kanamecho night.”
Course Menu | 3 Appetizers + 7 Nigiri
The evening began with three appetizers: seasonal white fish cured in kombu, lightly seared fish tataki, and our house-made tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet). Each dish was carefully balanced to complement the wine pairings. The seven nigiri sushi—including tuna, sea bass, kohada (gizzard shad), sweet shrimp, salmon, anago (sea eel), and tamago—were prepared right in front of our guests, one piece at a time. The precise timing of rice temperature, the gentle texture of the shari, and the aroma of the fish were all served at their peak. With each movement of the hands, small exclamations of delight and friendly conversations filled the room.
Special Opening Offer
To celebrate our first event, we offered additional nigiri at 50% off the regular price. Many guests happily ordered “just one more piece,” and this friendly, casual vibe—unique to a neighborhood bakery & wine bar—brought sushi and people even closer together.
Atmosphere & Feedback
The blend of freshly baked bread, fragrant wine, and the delicate scent of sushi created a relaxed yet premium experience that felt truly local to Kanamecho. Guests shared many kind words, such as “It’s refreshing to pair sushi with wine” and “I love the live experience of watching each piece made.” Thanks to this warm reception, we’re happy to announce that the next event is already confirmed for next month—a meaningful first step for Sushihatake.
