At the age of 32, I quit my salaried job and started organic farming.
I supplied produce to French restaurants, discerning eateries, and even individual customers.
Although I kept it going for five years, various reasons led me to close down.
(More details are on my YouTube channel—the latter half of the videos features my cycling hobby, haha.)
Afterward, I began studying English with the goal of moving abroad and planned a short-term study program in the Philippines.
However, right after I returned the farmland and completed the closing procedures, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and my plans fell through.
I ended up jobless and spent three years traveling to various places, both within Japan and overseas.
During that time, I made friends from around the world, and I became capable of basic communication in English. Now, at Sushi Kawa, I can handle everyday conversations and explain sushi in English to customers visiting from overseas.
When the pandemic subsided, I discovered a sushi school. Thinking, “If I learn sushi, maybe it’ll open up a path for me abroad again,” I set out in 2023 to pursue living overseas once more.
I graduated from sushi school. (My one big success in front of the pros was peeling a daikon radish into paper-thin sheets. “Now you’ve got something in life to be proud of, Mr. Hirai!” S-san, I still remember those words, haha.)
Currently, I’m continuing my training at Sushi Kawa while also offering a sushi catering service. Additionally, I mainly serve sushi during the Tuesday and Wednesday dinner hours at Sushi Kawa in Sasazuka.


We will prepare 10 varieties of nigiri sushi.

Currently, I am primarily working at "Sushi Kawa" and provide individual outcall sushi services on my days off. Our reservation status is as follows:
- Sunday & Monday: Outcall services are generally available.
- Tuesday & Wednesday: Outcall services are not available as I am responsible for dinner service at the Sushi Kawa store in Sasazuka.
- Other Days: Available upon consultation (please inquire about your preferred date and time).
We recommend that you contact us as soon as possible with your preferred date and time.
About Transportation Fees
The fee includes transportation costs for Tokyo’s 23 wards. ※ For other areas, please inquire for details.

What is your service area for outcall services?

We primarily cover Tokyo and its surrounding areas (such as Yokohama, Kawasaki, Chiba, and southern Saitama).
For other regions, please contact us to discuss further. Additional transportation fees may apply for distant locations.

What Equipment is Required?

I will bring my basic cooking tools, but it would be helpful if you could provide the following:
- A cooking space (approximately 1 tatami mat in size, including a table)
- A water supply (for hand-washing)
We can discuss the details when you make your reservation.

Can you accommodate allergies or ingredients that are not preferred?

Yes, if you inform us of any allergies or food dislikes when you make your reservation, we will prepare alternative ingredients for you. However, please note that additional charges may apply depending on the changes required.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

For cancellations made after your reservation is confirmed, the following applies:
- 7 days or more in advance: No cancellation fee.
- 6 to 3 days in advance: 30% of the fee.
- 2 days to the day before: 50% of the fee.
- On the day of service: 100% of the fee.
However, please note that cancellations due to natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances will be exempt from these charges.

I am able to explain sushi and engage in basic conversations, so I can cater to parties or events with international guests. Please feel free to consult with me.
